It’s not going to start off as professional level poetry but I’m going to do little segments of poetry based on meals. For exercise and to pay tribute to those calories blocks. Ah, food.


Cuban Panini and Shoecut Fries from Fresh Food at University of Houston

mattress-flavored.

like a three-day weekend sleep-in

upon my scalded tongue

fries, of crass texture

tators encased

dulled-tipped swords against the buds

creaminess dripping from the edges

with speckles

a flat creamy chicken
